What is Silhouette Soft?
Dr Rose explains the procedure behind Silhouette Soft Thread Lift
Silhouette Soft is a product we use in the thread lift treatments also called the one-stitch-lift. It is a quick procedure, safe and produces great, natural-looking results.
The product comes in the form of bidirectional absorbable thread cones which are used to lift and rejuvenate your skin, holding its shape underneath the tissue.
It's a fast procedure, usually administered within 30 minutes and lasts up to 18 months visually.
"Crucially, Silhouette Soft enables two joint actions," says Dr Rose. "An immediate lift effect as soon as the product is applied for a discreet result, followed by a 'regenerative effect' where collagen is stimulated over a long period of time"

How Does Silhouette Soft Work?
"There are two primary ways in which the Silhouette Soft treatment works," says Dr Rose. "The first is a lifting effect which is immediately visible yet discreet". This is the result of compressing and elevating tissue at the time of adjusting the suture. Once it's inserted, the doctor applies a little pressure on the treated area, which allows he/she to reshape the surface of the skin, giving the desired lift.
"The second effect - equally as important - is the regenerative effect, which is gradual and natural," says Dr Rose. Polylactic acid (PLA), which is the principal component of Silhouette Soft, acting on the deeper layers of the skin by stimulating new collagen growth which results in more lift and tightening of saggy areas and therefore restoring the natural contour to the face gradually.
But why polylactic acid? "Polylactic acid has been known and used in the medical field for many years in everyday surgical procedures and it is completely absorbable" explains Dr Rose. "As such, it is particularly safe and well-researched component in the surgical field".

Is Silhouette Soft Safe?
"If it's carried out by the right doctor, absolutely," says DermaKurve's very own Dr Rose." Good knowledge of anatomy, medical experience and advanced skills as well as observing the highest level of hygiene are pertinent to safety and achieving great results in any medical procedure."
In addition to this, the procedure can only be carried out by a doctor who's trained in the Silhouette Beauty Laboratory.
