What is the Vampire Facial Treatment?
Dr Rose explains the Vampire Treatment and how it works
Although it sounds scary, the Vampire facial treatment is actually a relatively straightforward and safe procedure, with some fascinating - and exciting - science behind it.
The Vampire treatment utilises our body's own platelets, little cells which are used to help us stop bleeding excessively when we cut ourselves and during surgeory especially. Vampire Treatment's proper terminology is Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP.
How does Platelet Rich Plasma Work?
Platelets can be powerful rejuvenation agents when injected correctly, as their healing properties work in truly magical ways.
The procedure works by taking a blood sample first and then spinning it in a special device designed to harness a high concentration of the platelets, before using it to treat the face where it then takes effect with its anti-aging and restorative properties.
Is a Platelet Rich Plasma Injection Safe?
PRP injections are safe and extremely effective when administered by a proper professional. As always with non-surgical cosmetic procedures, it is imperative that you check your doctor's credentials or the person administering the treatment beforehand in order to sure you're in the hand's os an experienced practitioner.
Platelets themselves are natural and have been used extensively in medicine since the 90's in the areas of cardiac, maxillofacial, plastic and orthopaedic surgery as well as in dealing with chronic ulcers.
Dr Rose explains how PRP treatment can be combined with the DermaPen for exceptional skin rejuvenation results.
